Assistência de enfermagem a clientes com câncer na cabeça e no pescoço com ênfase nos tumores de cavidade oral no Estado do Rio de Janeiro / Cuidados de enfermería para los clientes con el cáncer de cabeza y cuello, con énfasis en los tumores de cavidad oral en el estado de Río de Janeiro / Nursing care for clients with cancer in the head and neck wi th emphasis on tumors of the oral cavity in the state of Rio de Janeiro

Objective: To raise nursing diagnoses (ND) in patients with oral cavity cancer (OCC) and analyze age, gender, drinking, smoking, residence (urban or rural), schooling, topography of the disease. Method: Retrospective and analytical Study on 36 patients with OCC, seen in the Outpatient Nursing Section of Head and Neck Surgery, in the period from July to December 2008. Results: The main ND were identified impaired swallowing, pain, impaired verbal communication related to the tumor; dysfunctional family process due to alcohol and tobacco, tension in the caregiver role, risk of low self-esteem among others. Conclusion: It was observed that nursing care is crucial for maintaining the quality of life of these individuals. Accurate recording on patient and caregiver can minimize suffering. Another important factor is the monitoring of the cancer symptoms and their deleterious effects on the body of patients. The professional nurse is essential in the evaluation of patients.

Objetivo: Levantar Diagnósticos de Enfermagem (DE) em portadores de Câncer de Cavidade Oral (CCO) e analisar idade, sexo, etilismo, tabagismo, domicílio (urbano ou rural), escolaridade, topografia da doença. Método: Estudo retrospectivo e analítico sobre 36 portadores de CCO, atendidos no Ambulatório de Enfermagem da Seção de Cirurgia de Cabeça e Pescoço, no período de julho a dezembro de 2008. Resultados: Principais DE identificados foram deglutição prejudicada, dor, comunicação verbal prejudicada relacionados ao tumor; processo familiar disfuncional por álcool e tabaco, tensão do papel de cuidador, risco de baixa auto-estima entre outros. Conclusão: Observou-se que assistência de enfermagem é determinante para manutenção da qualidade de vida desses indivíduos. Registro acurado sobre paciente e cuidador pode minimizar sofrimento. Outro fator importante é a monitorização dos sintomas do câncer e seus efeitos deletérios no corpo dos pacientes. O profissional enfermeiro é imprescindível na avaliação dos pacientes.

Objetivo: Levantar los Diagnósticos de Enfermería (DE) en pacientes con cáncer de la cavidad oral (CCO) y analizar la edad, el sexo, el alcoholismo, el tabaquismo, el domicilio (urbano o rural), la educación, la topografía de la enfermedad. Método: Estudio retrospectivo y analítico de 36 pacientes con CCO, atendidos en el Ambulatorio de Enfermería de la Sección de Cirugía de Cabeza y Cuello, en el período de julio a diciembre de 2008. Resultados: Principales DE identificados fueron impedimentos para tragar, dolor, comunicación verbal perjudicada relacionada con el tumor, entre otros. Conclusión: Se observó que la atención de enfermería es crucial para el mantenimiento de la calidad de vida. Registro preciso del paciente y el cuidador puede minimizar el sufrimiento, el control de los síntomas del cáncer y sus efectos perjudiciales. La enfermera profesional es imprescindible en la evaluación de pacientes.

O impacto ao olhar o corpo desfigurado: implicações para os que cuidam de pessoas com câncer na cabeça e no pescoço – um estudo sobre enfermeiros

O enfermeiro atuante em oncologia tem uma especial atuação no seu cuidado. A nossa proposta, neste estudo de natureza qualitativa, é tratar do impacto ao olhar um corpo desfigurado: implicações para os que cuidam de pessoas com câncer na cabeça e pescoço – um estudo sobre enfermeiros. A partir do pressuposto que os enfermeiros se impactam, enfrentam e convivem com suas dificuldades quando cuidam de clientes desfigurados pelo âncer. Os objetivos do estudo foram: identificar as reações dos enfermeiros ao cuidar de clientes desfigurados pelo câncer na cabeça e pescoço; e discutir as implicações das reações e as estratégias dos enfermeiros para cuidar dos clientes desfigurados pelo câncer na cabeça e no pescoço. O cenário do estudo foi um hospital público especializado em oncologia no município do Rio de Janeiro de referência nacional do tratamento do câncer. A coleta dos dados foi realizada de outubro a dezembro de 2008. Foram feitas 15 entrevistas semiestruturadas com enfermeiros tendo como critério de inclusão a experiência do cuidado no setor de cirurgia de cabeça e pescoço do hospital do câncer. A análise dos dados originou uma única categoria que deu origem a duas unidades de codificação de enfrentar e de conviver: os sentidos do olhar e tocar o corpo com câncer na cabeça e no pescoço. A discussão e a implicação da categoria apontam que os enfermeiros apesar de se impactarem enfrentam, convivem e criam estratégias para cuidar. Eles usam sua arte de cuidar para criar uma forma complexa, singular e subjetiva na atuação do feio e da desfiguração

The nurse actuating in oncology has a special role in your care. Our proposal in this study of qualitative nature is to treat of the impact on looking a disfigured body disfigured: implications for those who take care of people with head and neck cancer - a study of nurses. From the assumption that the nurses impact themselves, confront and live with their difficulties when caring for clients disfigured by the cancer. The objectives of the study were: to identify the reactions of the nurses on taking care of clients disfigured by head and neck cancer, and discuss the implications of the reactions and strategies of nurses to take care of clients disfigured by the cancer of the head and neck. The scenario of the study was a public hospital specialized in oncology in the Rio de Janeiro County of national reference in the national cancer treatment. The data collection was realized from October to December of 2008. There were 15 semi-structured interviews with nurses having as inclusion criterion the care experience in the sector of the head and neck surgery of the cancer hospital. The data analysis resulted in a single category that originated two units of encoding of facing and living: the senses of the look and touch the body with cancer in the head and neck. The category´ s discussion and the implication of the category point that the nurses despite the impact face live together and create strategies to care.
